The global headquarters of this semi-conductor manufacturer, barely a decade old, was showing signs of wear and tear. RDLA’s task was to rejuvenate the space. Presented with a huge area of concrete pavement, we sought to introduce more green into the landscape by creating small garden areas where employees could enjoy sitting outside for lunch and conversation. While a certain amount of paving was required for fire truck and ambulance access, as well as for VIP drop-off, RDLA came up with four distinct designs that offered varying degrees of implementation — from minimal plants and trees and significant paved areas to abundant plantings and minimal paving. The designs were completed in spring 2007.
