RDLA worked with the City of Boston and the Grove Hall community to transform an underutilized pocket park into a vibrant public space and pedestrian connection between Blue Hill Avenue and the municipal parking area on Georgia Street.

A new promenade organizes the site, using specialty paving, seating, planting and distinctive lighting to create a welcoming setting for everyday use and community events. The paving extends into the adjoining parking area, strengthening pedestrian circulation while providing flexible space for food trucks and special programming.

Sustainability is integrated throughout the landscape. On-site infiltration manages stormwater, while native and adapted plantings provide seasonal interest, shade and ecological value. The result is a safer and more active neighborhood space that strengthens the connection between Grove Hall’s commercial district and surrounding community.
