RDLA transformed the schoolyard at this Boston K–8 public school into an adventure-based nature play environment where landscape, exploration and learning come together. The design moves beyond conventional playground equipment to incorporate rustic structures, interpretive plantings, garden beds and natural materials. A water chute and dry stream bed encourage experimentation and creative play while introducing children to water, plants and natural processes. The schoolyard provides students with opportunities for active play, discovery and outdoor learning, creating a landscape that functions as both playground and extension of the classroom.
